CRETE, NE. (August 5, 2025)?– For more than 130 years, Nestlé Purina has been committed to giving back to its communities and enriching the lives of pets and people. This year, team members from the Crete factory took part in the company’s 24th annual Purina Cares Day by dedicating an entire day to volunteering and engaging in community service.

Mobilizing 112 volunteer hours, the Crete team focused on beautification efforts at several key local sites including the dog park, city library and various parks. Their work involved landscaping, cleanup and restoration to bring these community spaces back to their full potential.

“Purina Crete came out and made a true impact in our community,” said Trevor Nickel, Crete parks groundskeeper. “They really took the time to beautify our community and create spaces for our residents to enjoy in their free time by planting flowers, picking up trash and restoring our green areas in some of our cities most important parks.”

The Purina Crete factory opened its doors in 1965 and employs more than 500 local associates who are proud to support these local initiatives and produce quality, nutritious pet food brands including Pro Plan, One and Friskies.

“We are so grateful to have the opportunity each year to make an impact in the city and the community we care about,” said Dan Neil, Purina Crete factory manager. “Our team really came together, and it was an amazing day of team building and seeing associates come together for the betterment of pets and people.”
