LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Nebraska Head Coach Matt Rhule took the stand in Las Vegas Tuesday for his third Big Ten Media Days.

After a 5-7 season in Rhule's first year, the Big Red went 7-6 in 2024 with their first Bowl Game appearance since 2017, knocking off Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl. The Huskers Head Coach says Nebraska made important strides in 2024, but hopes to see even bigger strides this season.

"I'm an incrementalist, I believe in getting a little better every year... I have great news, nothing that happened last year carries over to this year," Rhule said. "The Iowa loss at the end of the year was really really painful, but sometimes that's the pain you need to spur you forward in the offseason when guys get complacent and there's no complacency at the University of Nebraska."

Rhule believes, despite some veterans leaving on both sides of the ball, that the Huskers have the right pieces in place for 2025, but emphasized performance and finishing late in games.

"We've got veterans where we need to, we're good on the lines, we've got great coaches, but we're going to have to go perform," Rhule said. "That comes from guys owning it, not listening to anyone else, not complaining... Husker football is about performance, it's about us going out there and getting it done."

Player representatives for the Huskers included DB Marques Buford Jr., S Deshon Singleton, OL Henry Lutovsky and QB Dylan Raiola.

Nebraska kicks off the season on Aug. 28 against Cincinatti at GEHA Field at Arrowhead in Kansas City.
