Lincoln Highway Association tour passing through Cheyenne County June 25

SIDNEY -- The Lincoln Highway Auto Tour comes through Lodgepole Wednesday.
Tour participants will stop at the Lodge Pole Depot Museum. Wildeflour Baking Co. will be open 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. for the event.
The Lodgepole Community Improvement Board partnered with the Sidney/Cheyenne County Tourism Board to replace the 1913 Lincoln Highway signs for the upcoming Middle Third Auto Tour and Lincoln Highway Conference in Ogallala. The auto tour will come through the area June 25, starting in Ogallala and ending in Cheyenne, Wyo.
The signs in Lodgepole were replaced with signs for anyone coming from the East or the West and routes traffic to the South side of Lodgepole where the original route would go by the old Opera House.
The new Lincoln Highway signs have replaced the old ones so the tour can drive the original 1913 route on the south side.
Following the Lodgepole stop, drivers will continue west to Potter where they stop for lunch before continuing to Cheyenne, Wyo.
The 1,105 mile tour started June 17 in Illinois. On June 25, participants will leave Ogallala enroute to Cheyenne. Stops along the way will include Lodgepole and Potter. The Middle Third tour is from Joliet, Ill., to Cheyenne, Wyo.
