As persistent drought conditions continue to challenge livestock producers across Nebraska, Nebraska Extension will host a free webinar on June 5 to help beef producers navigate difficult forage and herd management decisions.

The webinar, titled “Drought Management Tools, Expected Grass Production and Early Weaning,” will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mountain Time (7:30 to 9 p.m. Central Time) and feature presentations from University of Nebraska–Lincoln specialists.

Topics include early weaning calves, drought planning tools, pasture outlooks, and forage alternatives.

“This webinar is designed to provide actionable information to help producers make sound, timely decisions during drought,” said Aaron Berger, Nebraska Extension beef educator.

Presenters include Karla Wilke, cow-calf management specialist; Tonya Haigh of the National Drought Mitigation Center; and range and forage specialists Mitch Stephenson and Jerry Volesky.

Producers can attend virtually or join one of several in-person host locations:
