SIDNEY, Neb. – The City of Sidney has issued two service updates affecting a local park and public transportation beginning next week.

Starting Monday, April 7, the Parks Department will temporarily fence off a section of the playground at Legion Park to begin installation of new equipment. The city is asking the public to avoid the closed section for safety reasons while the improvement project is underway.

“We kindly ask for your cooperation as we work to improve our community spaces,” city officials said in a release.

Separately, the city’s transportation service is temporarily down one bus due to needed repairs, which may lead to longer wait times over the next few weeks. Officials said they appreciate residents' patience as they work to restore the bus to full service.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank everyone for their understanding,” the city stated.

No estimated completion dates were announced for either project.
