Driver hospitalized, three deputies injured in Saturday single-vehicle crash in Seward County

SEWARD COUNTY - A single-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Seward County sent the driver of a car to a hospital and injured three police officers aiding in the initial rescue efforts.
The crash occurred near 252nd Road and Saltillo Road, between Milford and Dorchester, at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 29. According to a Monday press release from the Seward County Sheriff's Office, a car swerved off the road, crashed into a tree and caught on fire. Officers with Seward County and Nebraska State Patrol removed the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, from the fiery crash - they were then transported to a hospital with severe burns by Milford Fire and Rescue.
Three Seward County deputies sustained injuries while rescuing the driver from the crash. All three were treated at Seward Memorial Hospital and then released later Saturday night.
Since the driver of the car was a minor, their name will not be released, the sheriff's office said. The accident is under investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol.
