NEBRASKA - The Nebraska Game and Parks is now accepting lottery applications for mountain lion permits for the 2020 hunting season.

According to a news release, people can apply now through September 27th. Only Nebraska residents can apply and receive permits.

Hunting will only be allowed in the Pine Ridge Unit of northwestern Nebraska. Nebraska Game and Parks says this area has an established population that can sustain a harvest.

Up to eight mountain lions may be harvested with up to four of them being females. Once either of those thresholds are reached the season will close.
